SCADA Sends Delegation to DC
The annual NADA Washington Conference was hosted in DC last week and SCADA was well represented. Sims Floyd along with President Mike Addy (Addy’s Harbor Dodge, Myrtle Beach), 1st Vice President Jim Jones (Jones Buick, GMC, Sumter), Immediate Past President Doug McElveen (McElveen Buick GMC, Summerville), NADA Director Foster McKissick (Fairway Ford, Greenville) and NADA PAC Chairman David Herndon (Herndon Chevrolet, Lexington) spent time in DC focusing on national legislative priorities.
The SCADA delegation had congressional visits with Rep. Jeff Duncan, Rep. Ralph Norman, Rep. Jim Clyburn and Rep. Joe Wilson and discussed autonomous vehicles, auto tariffs and overbroad recall bills among other things. As always, the Congressmen appreciate the support of the SC Dealers and now have a better understanding of our stance on these important legislative topics. We will continue to monitor progress on the national bills S.1885/H.R. 3388 concerning self-driving cars to preserve state vehicle franchise laws and S. 1634/H.R.3449 opposing overbroad recall bills.
